Modern brand new Sonata delivery delayed for three weeks to solve NVH problem

[Global Network News] According to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported on March 26, in order to check vehicle noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) issues, the delivery of Hyundai’s new Sonata car will be delayed for three weeks.

On the 26th, a spokesperson for the company said on the phone that the date of delivery of the new Sonata will be postponed from 27th to around April 10th due to “improving some of the drawbacks of vehicles driving at high speeds.” He stated that the delivery date was postponed in order to enable the car to get the final inspection. The source said that the problem is mainly sound absorption and sound insulation, and has nothing to do with vehicle safety.

Market observers say that people react to the sound of the engine and the external noise that penetrates into the interior of the car, and the vibration is the same. But for medium-sized family cars like Sonata, good NVH characteristics are very important, especially if most of the competitors are doing better.

On March 21, Hyundai launched the eighth-generation Sonata in the Korean domestic market, and the response was good. From March 11 to March 26, orders reached 12,323. This year, Hyundai plans to sell 70,000 Sonatas in the Korean market and plans to export new cars to overseas markets in the coming months.
