In the new system, the owner must enable the new “seamless” feature with custom settings. If the driver selects “No” in the “Require Lane Change Confirmation”, the car will automatically change the lane without having to obtain the driver’s confirmation before the lane change.
The driver can receive notifications about the upcoming lane change by receiving a ringtone or a default visual reminder, or he can choose to have the steering wheel vibrate to obtain an alarm.
The company warned: “This feature does not automate the vehicle. The system only changes lanes when the driver’s hand is detected on the steering wheel.
