February was the first full month for Tesla Model 3 to be launched in Europe with sales of 3,657 units. Compared with the second-ranked Renault electric car Zoe and the third-ranked Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, the sales volume was 773 and 1,324. Model 3 breaks the sales tradition, and most sales are not from bulk sales, but personal registration. In addition, Model 3 became Europe’s best-selling mid-size sedan in the month, surpassing the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series.

In February, when the number of European car registrations fell for six consecutive months, the number of registrations for electric vehicles increased by 92% year-on-year to 20,000. In Norway alone, the registration of electric vehicles accounts for 40% of the total national vehicle registrations.

For plug-in hybrids, the best-selling car in Europe in February was still Mitsubishi Outlander, followed by the Volvo XC60, the BMW 5 Series and the Kia Niro plug-in hybrid.
