[Global Network Comprehensive Report] According to the Associated Press reported on April 18, following the recall of cars with fire hazards in 2017, BMW announced that it will recall nearly 185,000 cars in the United States. The recalled models include dozens of models including the 2006 3 Series, 5 Series and Z4.
It is reported that in 2017, BMW Company initiated a recall for similar reasons and recommended that the affected vehicles be parked outdoors until the problem is solved.
In a document submitted to the government, BMW wrote that moisture would enter the crankcase ventilation heaters of these vehicles, causing plastic parts to melt, which could lead to short circuits, even if the engine was not started.
In addition to the recall, a total of 925,000 vehicles were affected.
The recall plan is expected to start on May 28, and the dealer will replace the heater for the owner free of charge.
