One of the most iconic logos in the automotive industry, the Audi Four Rings dates back to 1932. At the time, four automakers, Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer, merged into Auto Union. In 1964, Volkswagen acquired Auto Union, and in 1969, it merged with NSU and officially changed its name to Audi. During the period, the logo of the four rings has been used. But recently, Audi enthusiast website Quattroworld found that two new LOGOs appeared in the trademark backup case submitted by Audi in Germany and the United States, simplifying the previous four-ring logo. The two new LOGOs were squandered by foreign netizens, saying that they were like caterpillars and clouds in Super Mario, and the other was like two pairs of eyes overlapping.

Quattroworld website analysis believes that the new logo may be applied to Audi’s future economic models or Audi’s connected car service.
