Since mid-November, Renault-Nissan Alliance Chairman Carlos Ghosn has been arrested in Japan for allegedly concealing income, and Renault and Nissan have been the focus of public opinion. On the 27th, French media reported that in early December CGT sent a letter to French Finance Minister Le Maire, inquiring about Renault’s handling of the incident and accusing RNBV (Reynolds-Nissan Joint Holding Company in the Netherlands) of lack of transparency.

A CGT spokesperson confirmed that the union had contacted French Finance Minister Le Maire and Renault Deputy Chief Executive Thierry Bollore to request an additional payment to the unrecognized Renault Executive Committee member through RNBV. Case. A CGT spokesperson said: “Employees are unaware of RNBV.” In this regard, Le Maire and Renault spokesperson declined to comment.

The French government owns a 15% stake in Renault. In early December, Reuters reported that Renault and Nissan executives sought to legalize the undisclosed income of Ghosn at least twice through the use of joint ventures (including RNBV), but both attempts ended in failure.

After Ghosn was arrested in Tokyo in mid-November, he remained chairman and CEO of Renault, but no longer served as chairman of Nissan. Originally, on December 21, Ghosn had hopes of being released on bail, but the Japanese prosecutors accused him of transferring $16.6 million (about RMB 114 million) of personal property losses to Nissan, so Ghosn continued to be detained.
