MG plans to launch a pure electric SUV in India in 2020

According to foreign media reports, MG India announced that it will launch a pure electric SUV in the Indian market in 2020. Previously, the company had said that it would launch its first product in India in the second quarter of 2019. This pure electric SUV is the company’s second product and will be available within one year of the first product launch.

The globally competitive pure electric SUV launched by the MG India company will make a significant contribution to India’s energy and environmental strategy. Pure electric SUVs will become a breakthrough chapter in the field of electric vehicles in India and one of the similar products in the Indian market.

In terms of market expansion, MG India has finalized about 45 dealer partners to start new car sales next year. At present, the automaker produces about 80,000 cars a year at the Halol car manufacturing plant in Gujarat; it will expand to 200,000 in the future according to market demand. The plant currently employs 300 people and is expected to employ nearly 1,500 employees by the end of 2019.

MG India said, “As part of our commitment to the Indian market, we will increase the pre-marketing activities. From next month, the product roadshow for Indian consumers will begin. Later, we will launch various branding campaigns. To draw closer to potential customers.”

The company also added that these new cars will be heavily localized and produced at the Halol car manufacturing plant. These new SUVs are all certified to the global quality standards and customized for India. They are also perfectly adapted to India. Road and driving conditions.
