In 2018, PSA Europe market sales reached 3.1 million units, an increase of 30.6% year-on-year, accounting for 80% of its total sales. PSA said that despite the excellent sales in Europe, without Opel’s contribution, sales in 2018 will drop by 12%.
In August 2017, PSA Group completed the acquisition of GM’s Opel and Vauxhall brands, becoming the second largest automobile group in Europe, second only to the German Volkswagen Group.
PSA said that PSA did a good job in overall sales growth last year, despite the unfavorable economic situation, especially the sluggishness of the Iranian and Turkish markets, failing to achieve its overall goal of 4 million vehicles. PSA Group’s sales in China fell by 34.2% due to the overall decline in the Chinese passenger vehicle market. PSA’s total sales in China and Southeast Asia fell for four consecutive years to 262,800 units.
