The 2019 annual eco-model finalists were released. Two new awards were added.

[Global Network Comprehensive Report] According to foreign media reports, “Green Car Journal” recently announced five finalists in the finals of the 2019 Green Car of the Year, and announced the new year of this year. Two awards – the annual environmental SUV and the annual eco-luxury model. In this regard, officials said that the shortlist showed different forms of “green.” The winning model will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Although some environmentalists only focus on pure electric vehicles, the competition organized by the Green Car Journal focuses on a variety of new alternative power system technologies. Among them, not only hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and pure battery electric vehicles, but also fuel cell vehicles, advanced diesel vehicles, and even traditional gasoline engines that use new technology to improve mileage and reduce emissions.

The finals of the 2019 Green Car of the Year finalists include the Honda Insight, the Lexus ES 300h, the Nissan Altima (North American version of the Scorpio), the Toyota Aaron Hybrid and the Volkswagen Jetta. The 2019 Green SUV of the Year finalists include Cadillac XT4, Hyundai Kona, Lexus UX, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Volvo XC40. The 2019 luxury green models are shortlisted including Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, Land Rover Range Rover P400e and Tesla Model 3.

This year’s judges included Jay Leno, president of the Ocean Futures Society, Jean-Michel Cousteau, and director of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator Mr. Peter Petersen, CEO of the Global Green USA Board of Directors, Honorary President of the International Council on Clean Transportation and Energy School of the University of Texas at Austin (Energy Institute, University of Texas at Austin) Senior Researcher Dr. Alan Lloyd; CERES President Mindy Lubber and US Energy Conservation Alliance Chairman Jason Ha Jason Hartke.
