Ford operates two engine plants in the UK, and last month the company said that if the UK did not reach an agreement with the EU, the company would face losses of up to $1 billion.
Ford and a number of automakers warned that if the UK does not have a deal, the cost of Brexit may include higher tariffs, supply chain disruptions and job threats. According to reports, other companies have issued the same warnings as Ford, which is no longer an accident. The report also said that the United Kingdom is scheduled to leave the EU on March 29.
Nissan Motor Co. said earlier that it has cancelled plans to produce the new X-Trail SUV in the UK, which will only be produced in Japan. The company said that the uncertainty of Brexit makes it difficult to plan for the future.
